Kodampuli - garcinia indica
Native of Western ghat and Konkan region, Kokum fruit, juice, seed and dried one, boost of nutritional and medicinal values.

Wash kokum thoroughly under running water to clean up any dirt accumulated during drying or smoking.

Soak in water for 15 minutes until it softens

Squeeze and take the juice completely.

Some may discard the peel, while some prefer to use it along with the water.

Kokum water can be used to prepare curries and rasam as a substitute to Tamarind.
